Revoice Community Groups are a great way to get more involved in the Revoice community! Three of these groups will launch this summer, and we hope to add more in the future.
Many of the questions we receive at Revoice center around two main themes: Discipleship and personal growth. Pastors and families often ask how they can ensure their gay loved ones are holistically supported in their churches and families. And gay Christians often ask how they can grow in their understanding of how their sexuality impacts their relationships with Jesus and with other people. Revoice Book Club will be one way we hope to help people discover answers to those questions, by reading and discussing books concerning spiritual growth, fellowship, and discipleship. Books selected will be a mix of topics ranging from prayer and BIble study to sexuality and spiritual growth. Book Club will meet weekly to discuss the assigned chapter(s) from the previous week, and registration will be open in a rolling format so people can join for certain books and step away for others. The group will take a break between each book for participants to process what they’ve read and decide if they’d like to continue with the next book.
Renew is open to gay/SSA people who serve in any form of ministry, and is intended to provide support, encouragement, and community for those serving in churches, on campuses, or in parachurch organizations. For many Side B gay Christians serving in a ministry capacity, there are unique challenges, sorrows, and joys that cannot always be understood by, or even shared with, their straight colleagues. Renew is designed as a space for these ministry servants to meet with one another, share their experiences, provide wisdom for those who may be facing challenging circumstances, bear burdens together and share joy! Renew will also have a Facebook group available in addition to the monthly Zoom gatherings.
Sacred Space is an intentional community focused on providing connection and support for couples in mixed orientation marriages. Led by Aaron and Liz Munson, Sacred Space is designed as a place for couples to connect with others who are on the unique journey of mixed orientation marriage by providing space to receive encouragement and support, to ask questions, and to fellowship around the Word and prayer together. In addition to their monthly Zoom gatherings, Sacred Space will have a Facebook group available for those who want to join and take advantage of more regular connections.
