Healthy relationships support thriving and flourishing. Abusive, neglectful relationships crush the spirit. Though abuse is painful and can be crippling, it doesn’t have to have have the last word. This workshop will be a place where we talk about the nature and characteristics of spiritual abuse, specifically as it has been inflicted on LGBTQ+ individuals, offer hope and guidance for those seeking to find their way out of spiritually abusive dynamics or recover from previous abuse.

Sara Collins earned an MA in Christian Counseling from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and is now a licensed marriage and family therapist. Although she primarily works with children and their caregivers, she enjoys providing support and empathy to a variety of individuals who are looking for help in their journey of coping with suffering, abuse, and trauma. She and her husband Nate live in St. Louis, MO with their three sons.

David Gill is a graduate of Covenant Seminary (’15) and a life-long musician whose current hobbies include leading worship and scoring silent films from 1915-1929. As director of The Chapel, a local arts venue serving both performance and gallery artists, he looks to build bridges in the arts and LGBT communities with the Church.
